Psychosomatic Conversations: Read Between the Lines – A Tale of Two Faces (Part 2 of 3)

August 2025

Welcome to Psychosomatic Conversations – our monthly Zoom session where we explore how the body reflects the mind and emotions through the lens of Psychosomatic Therapy.

This session is Part 2 of our 3-part series: Read Between the Lines
August Theme: A Tale of Two Faces
Do you show one face to the world and another in private?

In this month’s session, Christy Foster, Sean Jago, and Linda Thackray explored their experiences with face splits in psychosomatic therapy, discussing how these visual representations provide a powerful tool for self-understanding and emotional regulation. They examined how left and right side face splits reveal unique aspects of personality, emotional patterns, and inner critics, while also mapping body tension and emotional imbalances.

The conversation highlighted how face splits can show which side reflects a person’s public persona and which reveals their inner world. Participants also shared personal experiences of face reading and emotional transformation, with insights into life transitions and how different sides of the face capture contrasting expressions of self.

The session concluded with reflections on the importance of face splits as both a personal growth tool and a practical mapping technique within psychosomatic therapy, with anticipation for next month’s continuation of the series.
